Albany, NY - The Legacy Banks Foundation has contributed $2,000 to The Albany Housing Coalition to benefit the Veterans Community Advocacy Program (VCAP). The Albany Housing Coalition, a community-based neighborhood improvement corporation has been providing housing and services to homeless veterans for the past 26 years. Begin last spring, VCAP is reaching out to all veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan with supportive housing and employment services.
Richard Sullivan, president of The Legacy Banks Foundation commended the efforts of the Albany Housing Coalition saying, “It is important for veterans returning from war to have a place to turn for assistance with employment and housing. Many of our veterans suffer from post-traumatic stress syndrome and face a number of other challenges, and the Albany Housing Coalition does a tremendous job of providing needed assistance. The Legacy Banks Foundation is pleased to support their efforts.”
Headquartered in Pittsfield, Mass., Legacy Banks operates a full-service branch office at 39 North Pearl Street, Albany, and plans to open a new office at 545 Troy-Schenectady Road, Latham on January 7, 2009.
