Security Update
We have your security in mind.Recently, it has come to our attention that the Legacy Banks MasterCard® debit cards of some of our customers may have been compromised due to a data security breach suffered by Heartland Payment Systems. Heartland is an independent company that processes credit and debit card payments nationwide for various types of businesses, and is not affiliated with Legacy.
As we have worked with our debit card processor, to determine the best course of action to protect our customers who may be at risk for unauthorized charges, we have determined that it is in their best interest to issue new cards with new numbers. Only those customers with cards that have been identified as at risk for compromise will be reissued.
All of our debit card holders may take comfort in knowing that our processor’s fraud detection program monitors accounts and notifies customers of any potentially fraudulent activity or unusual spending patterns. This fraud detection has been heightened in light of these events. It is also important to understand that Legacy Banks debit card customers have no liability for unauthorized purchases or other fraudulent use of their card, provided that we are notified in a timely manner.
Please know that the protection of our customers’ personal and financial information is of the utmost importance to us at Legacy Banks. We encourage you to keep a close watch on all of your statements for any unfamiliar activity. One efficient way to accomplish this is through convenient Online Banking at LegacyBanks.com. Should you notice any irregularities in your account or you have any questions, please contact our Customer Service Call Center immediately at 800-292-6634. |
