10.23.2009The Legacy Banks Foundation Contributes to Hillcrest Educational Centers Pittsfield, Mass. – The Legacy Banks Foundation has contributed a grant in the amount of $2,500 to Hillcrest Educational Centers, Inc. to support an expansion of the organization’s Hillcrest Dental Care program. Hillcrest Dental Care which is the largest MassHealth provider in western Massachusetts, serves the oral health needs of over 6,000 Berkshire County residents, the majority of whom have special needs and/or major financial challenges and many of whom are veterans. The program’s expansion will provide for additional services offered to special needs and MassHealth patients as well as increase the program’s physical space.
The Legacy Banks Foundation has supported Hillcrests Dental Program each year for the past several years. Richard Sullivan, president of the Foundation said the program’s growth will address a critical demand as more and more people face financial challenges. “Hillcrest Dental Care serves an important role in meeting the oral health needs of those who could not otherwise afford these services or have access to care. We applaud Hillcrest for working toward enhancing this program to meet the needs of our community,” said Sullivan.
Gerard Burke, president and CEO of Hillcrest, thanked Legacy for its contribution saying, “We are incredibly grateful for the continued support and partnership from The Legacy Banks Foundation, which constantly does so much to improve the lives of the kids and families served at Hillcrest as well as so many other organizations here in the Berkshires.”
