The Legacy Banks Foundation Contributes to Habitat for Humanity

Albany, NY. – The Legacy Banks Foundation has provided a $1,000 grant to Capital District Habitat for Humanity to support the Stephen Street Project, the organization’s latest building project. A non-profit organization created in 1988, The Capital District Habitat for Humanity works to provide decent affordable homeownership to low-income individuals. The program is made possible through volunteer and staff member efforts and contributions and sponsorship from those in the Capital Region and beyond.

Richard Sullivan, president of The Legacy Banks Foundation expressed Legacy’s appreciation of the great work of the Capital District Habitat for Humanity, saying “We share your vision and applaud your efforts in making the dream of homeownership a reality for many who would otherwise be unable to afford it.”

Legacy Banks operates 19 branch offices in eastern New York and western Massachusetts, with two located in the Capital District’s Albany and Latham. Established in 2005, The Legacy Banks Foundation continues the philanthropic tradition of Legacy Banks and its associates who have generously contributed their time, talent and treasure for the betterment of the communities in which they have worked and lived for well over a century. The Foundation focuses its support in six major areas - affordable housing, economic development, education, health and human services, civic and community, and arts & culture.
