01.14.2010Legacy's Foundation and Employees Contribute more than $60,000 to Berkshire United Way Pittsfield, Mass. – The Legacy Banks Foundation has contributed over $60,000 to the Berkshire United Way (BUW), once again matching dollar-for-dollar the contributions made by employees of Legacy Banks. This past year, Legacy Banks employees contributed a total of $29,883.69 in paid gifts and payroll deduction pledges. As a result, The Foundation rounded its matched grant to $30,000 for the 2009 BUW campaign. An additional $3,816.95 was raised by employees through special events during Legacy’s pacesetter stage of the campaign, bringing total contributions from the Legacy family to $63,700.24 for the 2009 BUW campaign.
In commenting on the gift, Legacy Banks Foundation President Richard Sullivan said, “All of us at Legacy Banks and the Legacy Banks Foundation are proud to support such an important organization serving the needs of our community -- especially during this extremely challenging economic environment.
