The Legacy Banks Foundation was created to formalize the process of sponsoring the important work of our non-profit community organizations. Committed to the same long history of the philanthropic contributions by Legacy Banks and its predecessor banks, the Foundation supports organizations with 501 (c) (3) non-profit status working toward the betterment of our community – with an emphasis in six major areas - affordable housing, economic development, education,  arts and culture, civic and community, and health and human services.

 

Each year, the Foundation contributes to organizations undertaking important work in the communities that are served by Legacy Banks both in Massachusetts and New York. This coupled with the generous involvement by our associates of time, talent, and treasure, helps us fulfill one of the most important goals of a community bank – serving as a vital force in improving the communities in which we live.
